The Wentzville Wildcats Youth Football Association has been servicing the Wentzville and surrounding communities since the fall of 1987. In 2010, the WWYFA had more than 400 tackle football players participate .
We are a member of the Gateway Football League (GFL) which recognizes the importance of the life lessons a child learns through playing sports.
Practice for the tackle football season begins in late July with a camp held to kick off the season. The games normally start the weekend after Labor Day with a 7 game regular season schedule followed by the playoffs. Football games are held on Saturdays and Sundays with the possibility of an occasional make-up game during the week. Our home games are played at Progress Park in Wentzville and away games are played at other Gateway league member locations in the St. Louis area. Practices are typically held 3 nights per week (M/T/Th) until Labor Day. After Labor Day, practices are typically 2 nights per week (T/Th) .
The Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department has announced a three-phase plan to develop Heartland Park in the heart of the City’s dynamic commercial area. Full development plans include four dual-purpose sports fields that will provide our children soccer and football fields for games and practices. Other planned features are trails, picnic shelters, a playground, two man-made detention lakes, a pier, on-the-water shelter and a boardwalk
